This is the open-source version of http://test-ipv6.com .

falling-sky directs the user's browser (using JavaScript) to try and fetch a series of URLs. Based on the results, falling-sky infers what the user experience is like, and in the case of problems, makes a few recommendations. This reports to the user both how their IPv4-only experience will be, when public web sites go dual stack; as well as their IPv6 connectivity.

This project has a small audience at this time; as such, there are a few rough edges to getting this going. It does require an experienced system administrator to put this together. If you do find changes that will help the project, please contribute them back if you are able.

If you merely want to provide translations, look at source/text/text.en-us and files like it. The files are in YAML format; but it is easy enough to see how to edit it. Please use UTF-8 for the encoding. For new translations, send them whole to jfesler@test-ipv6.com. For updates, please use diff -c if you can; or send me the changed lines and I'll do my best to incorporate them. Even better: create an "issue" here, so it gets tracked.
