My reading of eMusic's Terms of Use make me think that third-party tools are not allowed. Can you clarify eMusic's position on this?
"5.3 Because the Service is designed for personal sampling and use, you are not allowed to use any automated system for the selection or downloading of files."
This would seem to ban any third-party software, or at least ones that, say, 'automatically selected'/suggested songs for you to download based on some algorithm. Such a program would not violate the spirit of the TOS ("the service is for personal use only") but would seem to violate the letter of it.
Also, is there a published API for third-parties that returns XML or JSON or similar for searching, browsing, charts, 'my collection', 'save for later', etc?
gabriel, I believe the key is "automated", I think that means no robot programs piling through download lists or samples. No third party API are available yet.
