How do you make the emoticons appear? I added the robot to a conversation and said :) and nothing happened.

I would like to see <3 for (L) as well. But that's just a personal preference, since I use that more than (L). I love the bot. :)

Is there a way to make the bots change the blip without it being listed at a contributer to the blip? Cause it gets a bit annoying to see "me (and emoticony)" on every blip I write. the people i talk to (if ever any of my friends get an invite) might get very confused too. It looks so messy. Good bot tho!

Is Emoticony working? I've tried several times, but he never seems to do any conversions to images.

@MiniLaura? & @mrrosshill Seems to be working fine for me. Emoticony doesn't handle the title blip yet, so make sure you're not trying it out there.

You may also want to check another Google Wave robot you have seen work previously to see if it is a problem affecting all robots.

I managed to get it to work once now, which is one more time than I was able to do before. However, Wave seems to be buggy right now, so I'll just try again later. (the other robot I added wasn't working either)

@drewshays I've added that to the most recent update @reidellis Those have all been added @iavtaev I have added those, I haven't got any different images for them so they are just being used in addition to :) and :( at the moment

The update with these changes in was just rolled out.

Still on my to-do list is live updating as you type and for emoticony not to be listed as an editor of a blip - these aren't forgotten and will hopefully come soon.

"colon asterisk" and "colon dash asterisk" should be the kiss (the gif is there but it's not implemented) (can't write asterisks in these comments apparently..)

@jacky.qj All you need to do is add emoticonbot@appspot.com as a participant to any of your waves in Google Wave and Emoticony will be there.

Is there a way to prevent it from working for certain combinations? For instance, I write the search content with:public and inmediately changes that.

@chemamolins I hadn't thought of that. Will look at implementing a whitelist of phrases which emoticony doesn't do text replacement within.

Just released a new update, added a few new emoticons and writing ne? at the start of a blip now stops emoticony from making any changes

Although it would be nice to be able to have different sets of emoticons to choose from, it wouldn't be the simplest thing in the world to implement. The nice thing about Emoticony is how easy he is to use.

Hey, thanks for the Emoticony-Robot. Great piece of work. Two proposals though:

- How about a nice bookmarklet like in Skimmy (http://wave-skimmy.appspot.com/public/menu.htm) to give users a real time easy to use emoticons overview and insertion interface.

- How about the yummy-yummy emoticon which is missing in every emoticon library I laid hands on till now. It's an emoticon which licks it's lips like :-9 or :9. Can be used for a variety of things (good looking, good tasting, etc.).

Hope you catch my drift and give some thought to my suggestions.

Would be great to see them incorporated in the next version.

There seems to be a bug, when I do <:o) I get a party and a shocked and a right parenthesis.

Unfortunately, an update to google wave broke robots which inserted images. Google have fixed this and hopefully the update will be in place within the next day or so and empticony will start working again.
