I created this to do Blackberry style notifications of new email on my iPhone. Because I use BeeJive with push notifications I can leverage that to get pop ups on the iPhone.

The daemon checks any IMAP email account and sends IM messages via any XMPP (Jabber/GoogleTalk) IM service. It is written in PHP.
