What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Import a git repository as a project
2. Click Team -> Share project
3. Select git, click next

What is the expected output? 

The step completes succesfully.

What do you see instead?

The form hangs, no progress is being made.


What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?


Eclipse 3.5 M1, EGit plugin 0.4.0.200905140116 , Linux.

Running

git gc
git prune

had no effect.

But deleting and cloning the repository did.

I've saved a backup copy of the non-functional repo, which I'm willing to share
privately ( it has one pom.xml file ).

I confirm this bug on Eclipse 3.4.2, EGit plugin 0.5.0.
Workaround from comment #1 works.

I too confirm this bug on Eclipse 3.5.0, eGit plugin 0.5.0.

Workaround worked for me too though =)
