issue 1 (User issue: No idea how to install) commented on by jagonjohn   -   I have never tested this on the default Xandros install that comes on the eeepc. You would need to download and install qt4.4-dev, and the eee.ko kernel module to get started. I do not have access to an eeepc with the default install so I do not know if either of those are apt-get'able but you could compile eeeqtweak if you have all of those installed by issuing the make command in the directory created after you extract eeeqtweak-0.04.tar.gz . Also, I didn't mean to do it but I left a compiled eeeqtweak in the directory I compressed with the source in it so you could technically, possibly, maybe just run that seeing as Xandros is based off of debian it could have the right librarys alread(?). I noticed on somebodies blog that this is the way they used it, not compiling it but using the executable I left in there by accident. It works, as long as you have eee.ko installed, otherwise it won't do a thing besides display a bunch of nothing. One last note... This was written for the 7** line of eeepc's, I have never tested it on a 901 but somebody posted on their blog they used it on a 901 to lower the fan speed(901's come with 900mhz from the getgo but i guess if eee.ko works on a 901 for the fan control eeeqtweak could have a little use). Get back to me if you have any other problems, I wrote this quick, im working and didn't notice this till right now. I didn't mean for this software to be used on any sort of mass scale and kind of just hosted it on google code so I wouldn't lose it by accident.... Just to make it clear... to extract the archive and compile the program issue the following commands in the directory you downloaded it to... tar -xvzf eeeqtweak-0.04.tar.gz cd eeeqtweak make ./eeeqtweak (To run the program) Note: You must be root to change any settings and also note that it is not a good idea to run software as root so do a sudo if ya know what I mean(and I'm sure you don't). Again, if you don't have eee.ko, version 2, installed then nothing good can come of running this application. Peace god.

issue 1 (User issue: No idea how to install) reported by A.M.Bevill   -   I'm a complete newb, so I have no idea how to use this file on my eeePC. How do I install on a machine running the default version of Linux (if that's even possible)? Even a link to a how-to would help. Thanks!
