What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the Wordpress OpenID plugin and enable the OpenID server feature.
2. Try to comment on a Blogger.com blog using the Wordpress OpenID credentials.
3. I get redirected to a page on my blog.

What is the expected output?
A Wordpress login page

What do you see instead?
(page title in web browser: WordPress > Error)
    This is an OpenID Server.

Nothing to see here… move along.

What version of the product are you using?
OpenID plugin v3.2.2
Wordpress v2.7.1

This is still an issue with:

Wordpress v2.8.5
OpenID plugin v3.3.1

Attempting to comment on *any* Blogger site using OpenID results in "OpenID
error." I
can successfully use the OpenID on other sites besides Blogger.

Any news on this?

I had an OpenID problem where clicking on the button to add a trusted site
(after
being automatically directed by the remote site) resulted in my own 404 message.

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/316771 fixed it for me (basically, in
openid/common.php, take out the index.php part of the base URL in the function
openid_service_url)

I'm having a similar problem with Blogger. I alternate between getting "OpenID
Error" or having Blogger redirect me to a Google Apps page that takes neither
my site's login and password, nor my Google login and password. (That's just
super wrong.) Blogger takes flickr openids just fine, and wp-openid works on
every other site I've tried.

Also, when I tried an alternate OpenID implementation [
http://siege.org/projects/phpMyID ] and Blogger has issues with that
implementation as well. If you try using http://example.com as your OpenID,
Blogger rejects it. Use http://example.com/openid.php and Blogger takes it,
but thinks your site's URL ends with openid.php.

I'm inclined to blame Google, but something must be wrong with wp-openid, since
other OpenIDs work on Blogger, so I guess it's a pox on both these houses.

A possible solution may be to disable the XRDS-Simple plugin, if that is also
installed.

Disabling the XRDS-Simple plugin solved it for me.

This has started failing again. I have not had a problem with it before
tonight. Now it gives an OpenID error.

Same errors here. Intermittently allowed comment "preview" functionality at a
blogger blog; usually gives vague "OpenID error"; won't post. OpenID I'm using
checks out at two different test services.
