Diskless Imager

The diskless imager is generic framework for building diskless Linux clusters. It allows a very flexible setup of the client images, integration of read-only and read-write NFS shares, tmpfs, copying, symbolic linking or overlay mounting.

Diskless Imager uses http://wiki.systemimager.org as basis for building its initrd. SystemImager is a very flexible and fast tool for deploying images to cluster (or non-cluster) nodes. Mixing this concept with the management of diskless clusters appears to be a natural extension. The main idea of Diskless Imager is to be able to use read-only NFS-exported SystemImager images for diskless clusters.
