Which gadget does this problem concern?

Gmail Icon

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Account title bar displays "no connection", mail count displays "!"
2. Zoom to any smaller size and account title displays correctly
3. Right-click icon and select "Check mails" [sic] and display reverts to
"no connection" and "!", even though:
4. Clicking icon takes me to my Google Apps inbox (which contains 2514
messages!)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Clicking the counter also does nothing (should display preview of mail)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

2007 (I see no version number), running on Windows Vista Business.

Which version of Google Desktop are you running and which language version
of Google Desktop is installed?

Google Desktop 5.7.0712.18632-en-pb (English)

I am having exactly the same problem.  It worked fine for several days, but now it 
says "no connection" "!" even though clicking the icon takes me directly to my gmail 
inbox.  Zooming in or out has no effect on the display.

I am running the 2007 version, on Windows XP, with Google Desktop 5.1.0708.19688-en-
pb (English)

I really liked the notification icon, when it was working!

Title bar displays no connection

It always says "no connection," but if i double click it takes me me to my inbox. 
Any advice?

I think I got it. For some reason, when I undock it from the sidebar, it works. It 
still works when I redock it. However, when I check my inbox, it goes back to 
saying "no connection."

Same  - No Connection problem --it worked after set-up yesterday but displays " no 
connection today.
I am on Windows XP Home Edition

I am having the same issue. Always shows No Connection !. Double cliking takes me to 
my inbox properlu

Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.

my icon sais "password" ne mumber is "!". i cant use 2 accounts the same time. any help?
