issue 13 (Unpack files from package onto Desktop) reported by mrpokwilson   -   I try to set the install directory to "~/Desktop" but it does not work. As the user name differs from each computer, how can I enter the path name so that the user in /home/<user>/Desktop can be set dynamically?

issue 12 (Compiling debianpackagemanager 0.4.2 on Ubuntu Jaunty - prob...) reported by thepittos   -   The 0.4.1 deb file doesn't work on Ubuntu Jaunty as it keeps complaining about not being able to find gnome-sharp. I found a note that the 0.4.2 code fixed this problem, so I decided to compile myself. Here are the steps I used to compile on Jaunty; 1. Installed all dependencies mentioned at http://code.google.com/p/debianpackagemaker/wiki/CompilingFromSource 2. Downloaded source using the command "bzr branch http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~welemski/debianpackagemaker/active" 3. ran "./configure" - OK 4. run "make" 5. Got an error "./FMain/CustomDialogs/DlgAbout.cs(52,25): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `DlgCredits' could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?" 6. I edited the source file mentioned above and removed the section that referred to DlgCredits. 7. ran "make" (again) 8. Got another error "./gtk-gui/DebianPackageMaker.DlgAbout.cs(178,72): error CS1061: Type `DebianPackageMaker.DlgAbout' does not contain a definition for `cbCredits' and no extension method `cbCredits' of type `DebianPackageMaker.DlgAbout' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)" 9. I edited this source file and removed all sections referring to credits. 10. Ran "make" again - OK 11. Following the instructions (http://code.google.com/p/debianpackagemaker/wiki/CompilingFromSource) I tried to do a "make run", but it said it had no target 12. I tried running a "make install" instead and it seemed to work OK. The binary was in the ../bin/Release directory. Don't know if it was there before I ran this command. 13. Ran binary OK. Edited files attached to this issue report...

issue 10 (issues with generated debs in a repository) reported by iluvatar.dx   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. create a deb package with no "suggested", "dependencies", "pre-depends", etc fields 2. include the generated deb in a repository made with reprepro 3. update the repository from a client What is the expected output? What do you see instead? expect: be able to update these packages I see: errors with the parser on the package list What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? dpm 0.4 on xubuntu 8.04 Please provide any additional information below. DPM generated empty fields on the control file in the deb package, this can't be handled by aptitude/apt-get client I guest a solution: just remove the empty lines from the control file, I did it by hand and worked, see the attached files :)

issue 4 (Doesn't depend on gtk-sharp2) commented on by rein...@simama.net   -   I can confirm this on Kubuntu Hardy. I had to find out from running the system from the command prompt that i needed mono. then i figured out i needed mono 2.0 then i figured out i needed gtk-sharp2: WARNING **: Could not load file or assembly 'gtk-sharp, Version=2.12.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=35e10195dab3c99f' or one of its dependencies. Please note that mono is not a dependency of gtk-sharp2, so I think the best way to go forward is to add both packages as dependencies.

issue 7 (Won't run on Ubuntu Intrepid) commented on by Cooper.Jackson   -   The executable normally used to open the program's /usr/bin/debianpackagemaker, which is a shell script. Status changed by welemski   -   Hi there I've been thinking about implementing the fakeroot instsall but having too much popup dialog might be annoying (considering the UI needs redesign) though I'm workin' on this but might no be included on the next release. Thanks.

issue 8 (All files contained in created package have normal user perm...) reported by 2amantu   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Making an package 2. then installing the package that was made 3. check then the permissions of the files installed by the package 4. you will notice that all permissions are not root but rather the user that installed. * What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected output on Ubuntu at least is that all packages installed install under root permission and cannot be modified except by root. Any additional user settings go under the user folder in /home * What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.4.1 on Ubuntu Hardy * Please provide any additional information below. As a roundabout, I ran the program as root with sudo, and all the files in the created package then had root permissions, as well as the package itself. So then I changed the package permission to normal user, but the contained files in the package stayed as root. It is kind of insecure to let files take on normal user permission, and then installed as such. Aside from this bug, Thanks for the great program :-D
