DDI Examples Repository

Lead and maintained by members of the Open Data Foundation and a small team of dedicated volunteers.

This is a repository for examples for version 3 of the Data Documentation (DDI) standard. Files here help provide examples that will reduce the barrier to easily doucmenting metadata in structured way, as well as providing sample DDI for software development to support metadata management.

The examples are broken up into three categories:

• Simple - used to illustrate a simple concept or use case - such as a Question, Concept or Study - but not ideal for actual implementation.
• Complex - to demonstrate more complex ideas, such as referencing, packaging or schemes.
• Practical - highly complex examples that replicate an actual problem or real world scenario completely.
