Thanks for submitting this issue including the attachment.

Would be great if you could help us by elaborating a bit more on the following:

  • What steps will reproduce the problem?
  • What is the expected output?
  • What do you see instead?
  • What version of the product are you using?

In terms of OS it seems to be Windows that you are running.

Added Area-Editor, Triaged labels.

I have the same issue with 1.6.0 on Windows 8.1. When I click "Tools - Pub build" in the main menu of Dart Editor, I see the same error as in the screenshot at the first post here. Selecting pubspec.yaml file in the Files tab doesn't help. Contents of pubspec.yaml:

name: AppName
description: A sample web application
dependencies:
  browser: any

When I select pubspec.yaml file and click on "Run pub build" link on the right - build runs ok, so bug is somewhere in main menu code, I suppose.

"pubspec.yaml" not found: https://code.google.com/p/dart/issues/detail?id=8399

According to age of the above issue (Feb 7, 2013) and their status "fixed" I draw some conclusion:

Nobody seriously was not going to address this issue and not going to do this in the future.

Issue date: Apr 17, 2013

Pub install cannot find pubspec: https://code.google.com/p/dart/issues/detail?id=9977

So, I cannot understand:

  • It has been fixed?
  • It has been fixed a lot?
  • This is only illusion that it has been fixed?

P.S.
Who will be able to find more issues like these let him ask a prize from Google...

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to reproduce this. If I have zero files open and nothing selected in my Files view, then I see "Please select a pubspec.yaml file before running pub".

Ideally, "pub build" in the Tools menu should not be activateable unless it can run. But the workaround is to select a project or a pubspec.

Added NotPlanned label.

I am sorry but I don't understand what you want to say.
If you hoist the eyeglasses on the their nose, or ask you to help someone who has a good vision then you can see that on the picture "Безымянный.jpg".

  • Not a zero opened files (If I have zero files open) but a five (5) open files (3+2 hidden).
  • The "pubspec.yaml" file selected in Files view (nothing selected in my Files view)

P.S.

Or are you blind or you are kidding me or you are think I'm a fool blind.
