HowToInstallUsingSVNRepoInstaller
How to install my plugins/scripts using SVN Repo Installer

Introduction

You can use SVN Repo Installer to download and install the plugins and scripts available here.

Note

This repository is included starting with SVN Repo Installer v1.7.1, so you don't need to do the installation steps below.

Installation

http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/packages/plugins/programs/SVN_Repo_Installer.zip
If you're using an older XBMC version that doesn't support special:// paths, you should install version 1.3.1 from here:
http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/packages/plugins/programs/SVN_Repo_Installer_1.3.1.zip
  • Extract contents into XBMC\plugins\programs
  • Download my repository descriptor from here:
http://dandar3-xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/files/SVN%20Repo%20Installer%20-%20dandar3-xbmc-addons%20repository%20v1.0.zip
  • Extract contents into:
    • XBMC Live: ~/.xbmc/plugins/programs/SVN Repo Installer/resources/repositories/
    • Linux : ~/.xbmc/plugins/programs/SVN Repo Installer/resources/repositories/
    • Mac : ~/Library/Application Support/XBMC/plugins/programs/SVN Repo Installer/resources/repositories/
    • Apple TV : users/frontrow/library/application support/XBMC/plugins/programs/SVN Repo Installer/resources/repositories/
    • Windows : %appdata%\XBMC\plugins\programs\SVN Repo Installer\resources\repositories\
See http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=HOW-TO_install_and_use_plugins_in_XBMC#Manually_installing_plugins for more details on program plugin locations.
  • Run SVN Repo Installer and you will see a new dandar3-xbmc-addons entry, through which you can install the plugins available here.

My path is ~/.xbmc/plugins/video/SVN Repo Installer/resources/repositories. Why?

Comment by dan.da...@gmail.com, Jun 06, 2009

That's probably because you are running XBMC on Linux, is that correct? I'll update the page with proper location for each platform.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do you "Run SVN Repo Installer"?

Thanks!

That's a good question, especially if you run that from XBMC for Windows, where you might have to enable it. If you don't have a "Programs" entry in the main menu it's because either your skin does not support it (try Project Mayhem III or PM3.HD) or it wasn't enabled in Settings > Skin Settings > Home Window (http://www.xbmc.org/wiki/?title=Skin_Settings), there should be a Show Programs setting, check that.

Coming back to main menu, you should see a Programs menu entry now, select that and then should see a Program Plugins entry, click that - if you installed SVN Repo Installer correctly it should be listed in there.

I recently installed XBMC (the 5/21/09 Revision 20439) but when I run the SVN Repo Installer or T3CH upgrader I get the same error message, "socket error?(10049, "Can't assign requested address... ". I am very much a novice but any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

I would recommend searching the xbmc.org forums, apparently this is common problem, fixed in some builds or maybe your Xbox is not connected correctly to the internet. Send me an email at dan.dar33 at gmail.com (with a debug log, http://www.xbmc.org/wiki/?title=HOW-TO_Submit_a_Proper_Bug_Report) and I could try to help you there.
