List and description of all available videos in Theme Hospital
Updated Jan 19, 2011 by edvin.li...@gmail.com

Introduction

The table below consists of all available videos from the retail version of Theme Hospital. The files are located in the 'Intro' and 'Anims' folders in the installation directory of the game. If you want to play a video or convert it to another format, do like this:

(Windows only)

Sounds

The LOSE and 320X240 files seem to be the same (same video), but file size and lenght varies a little bit. The ATTRACT files are the same, but the one in 'Intro' has music on it, the other is silent.

Is there any chance of these being added to CTH in the relevant places or are there copyright/technical issues?

Comment by project member edvin.li...@gmail.com, Jan 19, 2011

They are just very small...

Comment by cle...@gmail.com, Jan 19, 2011

as far as I know ScummVM plays SMK files for some games (Broken Sword...) without legal problems

Comment by l_koni...@hotmail.com, Jan 19, 2011

Adding them to the game would be nice. Not fullscreen but perhaps as big as the other screens are in the game atm (staff screen etc)

Comment by project member edvin.li...@gmail.com, Jan 19, 2011

That's the problem, the videos are half the width and height of the fullscreen windows...

Comment by project member mark.l1...@hotmail.co.uk, Jan 20, 2011

Can they be stretched? They appear to be fullscreen when you play TH, even if full screen for the game is smaller than your standard dimensions.

Comment by project member edvin.li...@gmail.com, Jan 20, 2011

Of course, but they would get extremely pixel-ish.

I'm working on the animation of the level map. (http://forums.corsix-th.com/index.php/topic,227.0.html) I never did an animation before and it is harder then I thought it would be.

I also did a concept for the main menu a while ago, and last week I animated the rolling up of the screen as an exercise. I put it on YouTube? because I had a question for a Blender instructor. Anyway here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96BXpckmsSY (for the really sharp-eyed, the problem with the wrinkle texture is already fixed) I might finish that somewhere in the future if there is a change that it's going to be included in the game.

I really do like the look of what you have done and I hope that they do include it when completed. (both of them) I would also like to see the losing animations in the game or some new ones if that is possible.
