CO2racker
CO2racker (say "carbon tracker") is a carbon tracking application. With it, groups and individuals can reduce their carbon footprint by taking and tracking specific "carbon diet" actions.
How it works
With CO2racker, the site administrator sets a carbon reduction goals, say, 1,000,000 pounds. He or she then invites one or more team leaders. Team leaders in turn invite members for their respective teams.
The members of the team, including the leader, take various green actions to reduce their carbon footprint. For example, a team member might replace a commonly used 100-watt incandescent light bulb to save approximately 100 lbs of carbon per year. After taking the action, the team member logs onto the CO2racker web site and logs their action. Their savings is added to the team's savings and to the site's overall savings.
The logging portions of the CO2racker site are password protected. Team leaders and members must log on to record their actions, etc.
Various graphs and statistics are available to display on the web site's unsecured pages. A simple PHP include statement followed by one or more output statements add the graphs to the page.
