Steps to reproduce the problem :

  1. Search or browse your collection to album for which you have set the cover
  2. Play or edit one of the track's information
  3. See the cover displayed in lower left corner of the main window or in the track information dialog, but not in the library browser

Expected output :
I am expecting to see the cover icon in the library browser.

Actual outcome :
I am seeing a the icon of a CD in a case instead

Version and operating system :
Version 1.1 rc1 on Archlinux (Arch package version : clementine 1.1.0rc1-1)

I also joined a screen-shot illustrating the problem.

Can you check whether that cover shows up in the edit tag dialog and the lower left corner for all the songs on the album?

I am seeing a similar issue. I am using v1.0.1-704-g0a7c4c2 nightly build on Windows 7.

If I click to expand an artist in the library, then the covers for that artist's albums display fine. However if I do a search, then the albums that are displayed in the library show the CD case icon instead (unless they were manually expanded earlier on). From then on, the albums that were shown as part of the search will never have the correct cover shown next to them in the library.

I'm having the same issue. From what I can gather, it happens when the cover is not embedded in the audio files, but is an image file in the directory.

I.e.

Album_cover_is_shown/
Album_cover_is_shown/01 - track.flac << has PICTURE metadata

Album_cover_is_not_shown/
Album_cover_is_not_shown/01 - track.flac << does not have PICTURE metadata

Here's another screenshot just to confirm its the same issue.

It happens to me also when the cover is embedded into the audio files...

The same thing happens to me.

I have the covers loaded in the lower left corner of the main window but they are not displayed in the library section.

I'm using Clementine 1.1.1 in Linux Mint 15 with Cinnamon 1.8.8 as user interface

However I would like to point out that I've just installed the development release 1.2.0 for Raring Ringtail, and this problem seem to be fixed.

I must have changed something, because now it seems that the covers are not displayed in the library section in Clementine 1.2.0

All my covers are shown in the "Cover Manager", but some of them are not shown in the library section.

I'm using Clementine 1.2.3 under Gentoo Linux. This bug is still present and I think I may have found another detail about it: The covers are perfectly shown on the library browser when you use "Album" as a grouping criteria, but they are NOT always shown when grouping by "Year - Album".

In my case, sorting my collection by Artist/Album or Genre/Artist/Album works perfectly, but sorting it by Artist/Year - Album or Genre/Artist/Year - Album shows this inconsistent behavior on cover showing.

Hi.
I confirm the issue, and it's quite serious as my library has hundreds of albums and perhaps only half of them show the covers properly.

Are you using the latest development build from http://builds.clementine-player.org/?

I noticed this issue a while back. It seemed to be related to how many covers Clementine tried to load at once in the Library view, and wasn't related to issues in the audio files themselves. It was mostly visible when using the search feature.
Since the last stable release (1.2.3), Clementine now caches art in the Library view, and that cleared it up for me. All of my 1000+ albums show art, with none missing.

Note that Clementine caches art separately for every grouping, so showing by "Album" and then changing the grouping to something like "Artist/Album" will reload all covers from the audio files.

I'm using version 1.2.3 yes, apparently the latest. I changed the grouping a bit, and restarted the player. Magically, it seems the covers are all loading. First time in years. Thanks. Lets see if it remains like this.

I confirm this bug. It seems that is happening when using the search. When you type enough characters to reduce the found elements to a few, Clementine auto-unfold the grouping, and in this case, sometimes the covers are not shown. Unfolding manually doesn't happen.

I think @pedrobaeza hit the nail in the head. The issue still happens for me, because I browse often my collection by searching.
