Chrome Version : Chrome 13.0.782.218(FR)
OS Version: Windows 7[FR]
URLs (if applicable) : http://www.BuzzMath.com/Home
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari 5: OK
  Firefox 4.x: OK
     IE 7/8/9: OK

This bug is preventing end users from typing an email on a French Canadian keyboard in Google Chrome (version 13.0.782.218 with Flash version 10,3,183,7) on www.BuzzMath.com (AS3 Flex 3 project) and www.Netmaths.net (AS2 Flash project). Other Alt-Key combinations may also prevent the keyboard from working.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Get latest Flash Player
2. Go to http://www.BuzzMath.com/Home (/Home is a Flex project, it will open the Flash login popup 2011-09-07, this behavior may change in the next months))
3. Try to type an email like "john@doe.com". On a French Canadian keyboard, we type "@" with RightAlt-2. Typing that combination with a U.S. or French Canadian keyboard will block all following keyboard input. The bug works with a U.S. keyboard if you type RightAlt-2, but this is maybe not affecting U.S. end-users much.

What is the expected result?
Being able to type the whole email "john@doe.com".

What happens instead?
Keyboard input will stop before typing "doe.com" on a French Canadian Keyboard.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Notes from Adobe:
Based on Adobe testing result, it's an injection issue by Chrome, not Flash Player issue.
Testing on Win7[FR] + FR keyboard + FR(Canadian) IME + build
FP11/FP10.3/FP10.2
+ Chrome 12.0.742.112(FR) UTR
+ Chrome 13.0.782.112(FR) UTR
+ Chrome 13.0.782.220(FR) reproduced.
So it is an injection issue by Chrome from its build 13.0.782.112 to 13.0.782.220.

Why is there no owner and why is the status still unconfirmed? Even Adobe confirmed it was in Chrome. It's a regression. Thanks!

This issue is very critical for us, because we have an application where users can collaborate. they often have to give their emails. So they can't because as soon as they type "@", their keyboard is blocked.
I hope that Chrome will be fixed. Otherwhise we will inform our users that they have to use IE or Firefox.

Does this problem still occur in Chrome 21 with Pepper Flash?

Login to tape.tv with latest Chrome 21 and openSUSE Linux 11.4 is fine now. But Chromium 22 still needs to be fixed.

This morning I was with Windows 7 where the error hasn't occured yet on tape.tv.

@15: "Chromium 22" presumably doesn't come with Pepper Flash, so it must use whatever old NPAPI Flash is on your system.

Since others indicate that it's now working properly with the bundled Pepper Flash (in particular, on Windows), I'm going to close this bug as obsolete. If anyone still has this problem with Pepper Flash, please file a new bug and supply details. Thanks.

That's what I was trying to say: on my systems the error did not occur with Windows OS at all (especially not with Windows 7), only with Linux OS (especially openSUSE Linux).

So after all, as the issue seems to be fixed with the latest Chrome 21, file can be closed.

Thank you!
