Reported by venkataramana@chromium.org, Feb 24, 2009
Build: 2.0.167.0 (Developer Build 10297)
Works fine in 0.3.154.8 (Official Build 3988)

-On [New Tab], press Ctrl+ + many times to zoom it (i guess min 3 times is
mandatory )
-Ctrl + 0 to normal size.

[New Tab]'s thumbnail titles are not unzoomed.

This shouldn't be specific to the NTP; are there other sites where it repros?
Comment 3 by venkataramana@chromium.org, Feb 26, 2009
I could not able to find the repro steps other than the NTP.

As the new tab is just web content, I'm punting this over to the webkit folks. The
issue reproduces (sort of) if you view source, save the source to a file, and open it
in Chrome - Ctrl+0 leads to badness.

I had noticed the same problem with 2.0.160.0, and filed a bug report, it's issue
7575 (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=7575). I think you should
merge my report into this, or vice versa.

Anyway, there's more to it than just thumbnail titles not being unzoomed. Look
carefully: after you zoom in a couple of times, you reach the point where the page
should become so large that the window is too narrow, and the horizontal scroll bar
should appear. If you zoom in, instead, the 9 pictures and the right menu (Searches,
recently added favourites, recently closed tabs) actually get a bit narrower, instead
of getting wider, and the scroll bar isn't needed (and doesn't appear). Zoom in once
more, and they will enlarge again, and the horizontal scroll bar will appear. In
other words, there's one (but only one) level of zoom that is broken, the one when
the page should become wider than the screen.

And yes, once that happens, if you press Ctrl-0 the titles aren't unzoomed.

I realize that I wasn't precise at all when I filed issue 7575 , I'm sorry about that.
Now I think I've properly described the problem.

One last thing: it is possible that this problem is resolution-dependent... In case,
I have it with a 1440x900 screen. Or maybe it's just that it is widescreen, that is,
16:10 and not the old 4:3 format.

If you need more info, just let me know, I'm starring this.

Regards,

Fabio

This bug seems to be triggered by the webkit transitions. If I remove them the bug does
not happen any more.

There is an open webkit bug to not run transitions when the user zooms. Maybe it will
fix the issue.

We need someone to review https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24807 if none of you
can do it could you encourage the attention of the right webkit reviewer?

I don't know if this is the same issue, but I noticed "weird things" happening while
playing with zoom on the new tab page.

In particular, "weird things" means "the last thumbnail is different size than the
others (both larger or smaller)". I'll post some screenshots. (I cut out the two
leftmost thumbnails for "privacy" reasons :), but you can see the issue on what's left)
