There have been some occasions where a windows builder failed with the following message:

A full compile log of a failed build on chromium builder dbg (build 21985) is attached.

I've seen similar errors doing more than one link at a time, for large outputs. The mspdbsrv.exe falls over after hitting 2gig of memory.
