Song, do you still see the problem? A reduced test case would be very nice. (For 5 minutes, I've tried to get to the page with Terms and Conditions in Thai, but I gave up).

Can this bug can be merge to this issue? http://upic.me/i/em/3abug.png
Apr 7, 2010
song, thank you for the reduction. It seems that the extent to which it does not work expected depends on which Thai font is used. On my Linux box, the first and the second cases in the screenshot are broken, but the third is ok (the same rendering as in gedit). Perhaps, GSUB/GPOS tables in some fonts are either broken or in a form not handled well by harfbuzz (+ our port of webkit) Can you tell us the output of 'fc-list :lang=th'? That way, we can tell whether it's a particular font or not (if so, which one is). To suteanfx: I guess so. In the screenshot, spacing between Latin letters is also messed up, (which is similar to the symptom of bug 39190.) Can you also add the output of 'fc-list :lang=th' here? Thanks

Please see attatched file "fc-list_th.txt".

Hi guys, I have the similar problem with Thai characters and sometimes with the letter spacing in English and German. The symptom is exactly like bug 39190 as jungs mentioned earlier. The output 'fc-list :lang=th' is attached. Another screenshot is also attached. Hope that it would help.

(Bulk edit) Not fixing this bug soon, sorry. I expect this bug and some others are all the same issue so I am hopeful it will just be a small fix to make all of this work.

Should it be something about the latest update that has been coming out during the last two or three weeks? Because I've never had this problem before until I updated the chrome browser. Since then the displayed characters are misplaced and jammed (spacing).
Apr 14, 2010
Just updated to 5.0.375.3 a minute ago. Everything looks almost perfect except for some character spacing which still jammed a little bit. :)

Sorry, try to switch back to Arial and it still looks ugly. Better switch back to Arundina font. By the way, I'm using Ubuntu 9.10.

Bulk moving to mstone 8, at this point work on m7 should effectively be closed. If something in this bulk edit is not actively being worked on, please change the mstone to m9.

Given our current velocity, we need to punt 500 bugs from m9. Moving p2 bugs, that are not started and have an owner, to the next milestone. If this issue absolutely needs to be fixed in the current milestone please move it back, however, at this time the focus should be on p1 bugs.
