Nobody is working on the Linux UI for SSL client authentication
now. So I changed the status of this issue back to Untriaged.

Since we're not going to be the ones to implement this, I think I will close this.

wtc, what do you think?

evan: I'm confused. Is there a new policy that we can't leave open
bugs that nobody is working on? This UI is a must-have for Chrome
to support SSL client authentication on Linux. If every bug must
have an owner, jcampan or I can be the owner.

Would this feature allow users to see the expiration date for a certificate? As a
website developer, I regularly need to check these for clients, but I haven't found a
way to do this in Chromium.

I'm missing the feature, too (for example, to request compensation for parental leave
from the Swedish social insurance system). The Chromium code base must already contain
code for a UI to request passwords, as the browser asks for login and passwords when
requested by my proxy server. Unfortunately my programming skills are not sufficient
to help any further in such a large project.

marin.merljak,

If it is important to you, I'm sure there are some ways you could contribute time or
money so that it is implemented more quickly.

m...@summersault.com: the certificate viewer you asked about in comment 7 is the
subject of issue 18119.
