Basically the issue is that single right-click will behave differently in Chrome (at least as observed on Linux). In Chrome the pop up menu will stay open.
In ChromeOS (as shown by the attached video) the popup menu will show up for a fraction of a second and the default entry will be selected. This looks janky to me

Rick: I think we had another popup menu issue a little while back, do you remember who can look into this?

saintlou@ what did you need to do to reproduce it? I also can't repro on the current canary build (2411) on lumpy.

Upgrading to Pri-1 - if the context menu is really completely broken then we need to fix it. If it's not, then this shouldn't be ReleaseBlock (Pri-2 ReleaseBlock-Stable is inconsistent).

Looks like pkasting@ has most recently modified the context menu code. Peter, can you please route this accordingly?

I have no idea how to route this. It sounds like an event-handling issue, so possibly a views bug. Maybe sky can triage better.

I'm guessing this is related to the new spellchecker code.

Greetings,

I wonder why this issue happens only on Chrome OS. If this issue is caused by the new spellchecker code, it should happen not only on Chrome OS but also on Linux and Windows. (As far as I read this thread, this issue happens only on Chrome OS. Neither can I reproduce this issue on Linux or Windows.)
By the way, it disables the new spellchecker code to choose "Disable Asynchronous Spellchecking" item in about:flags. Does this issue happen when disabling the new spellchecker code?

Regards,

Hironori Bono

Yes it is true I can see that Jasneet runs into that issue, but I don't. Very weird let's keep open and collect more data.

Is this still reproducible? We're cleaning up the Feature-Spellcheck bugbase as we transfer project ownership.

I can't repro on 22 or 23 but I weirdly don't get the spellchecker at all for that matter.

Jasneet, what device are you using. Can you attach feedback logs or send a feedback report with some tag in it and post it here?

Can somebody confirm this is still an issue? Or can we close this?
Dec 6, 2012
#22 rous...@chromium.org
Cannot reproduce on ToT Chrome OS. We can close this as WontFix (obsolete).

If you encounter this issue again, please re-open with repro-steps, your Chrome version, and your OS type. Thanks!
