This is a plugin process problem. When running Chrome with option
--in-process-plugins the site works.

is there something that can be done at the user level or will this be resolved with an
update?
Comment 6 by akhilkejriwal, May 27, 2009
Try this site as well - http://www.bigcinemas.com/IN/index.asp. The drop down options
menu does not work (where you choose the multiplex). is this a java issue as well.

Fixes at least the hang part of this. Please verify if it still hangs for you on nse-
india site or any of the other sites.

Sorry for not being clear. The next chrome dev-channel build should have that fix. If
you are not familiar with Chrome channels, here's a link: http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

In Chromium r17933 this is now almost working. However when http://www.nse-india.com/
is opened in a new tab only one of the stock tickers starts running and the following
exception is logged in the Java console:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Width (0) and height (0) cannot be <= 0
	at java.awt.image.DirectColorModel.createCompatibleWritableRaster(Unknown
Source)
	at sun.awt.Win32GraphicsConfig.createAcceleratedImage(Unknown Source)
	at sun.awt.windows.WComponentPeer.createImage(Unknown Source)
	at java.awt.Component.createImage(Unknown Source)
	at HorizontalTicker.init(HorizontalTicker.java:112)
	at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown
Source)
	at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Width (0) and height (0) cannot be <=
0

When the page is reloaded in the same tab both tickers starts to run and no exception
is logged.

This behavior seems consistent.
Summary: Java failure (http://www.nse-india.com/)

Changed issue title
On http://www.bigcinemas.com/IN/index.asp the drop down options
menu does not work (where you choose the multiplex)
The site does raise an alert, though:
ERROR:: Unknown browser detected !!!

Fixing a bulk edit. Looks like the search query was not correct.
