Introduction

Chatsworth is an immature project right now and needs some special TLC to get setup. Prior to installing and running Chatsworth a Google account will need to be created to act as the bot account. Anyone that wants to participate in a group chat will have to invite/be invited by this new Google account to chat. Adding chat contacts is a manually process at this time. Once the Google account has been created and a chat contacts list has been built follow the instructions below.

Bot Service Configuration and Setup

  1. Run and complete the MSI installer.
  2. Go to the installation directory and open Chatsworth.exe.config file in a text editor.
  3. Find YOURUSERNAME in the file and replace that with the Google account username.
  4. Find YOURPASSWORD in the file and replace that with the Google account password.
  5. Open the Services management console app either from the command-line via 'services.msc' or by Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
  6. Find and click on the Chatsworth entry listed among the services. Once selected then click Start this service.
  7. The Chatsworth service should now have been started.

Joining the Group Chat

After the contact relationship has been setup and the bot service has been installed, the chat participant must send a join message to the bot to be included in the group chat. Please see the chat command wiki for instructions on how to send the join message.
