These are custom "URLs" for use in CastCluster, they look like this:

YouTube

youtube videos are fetched and then converted to mpeg4

yt|user|citizenchong

(it's a pipe ("|") delimited string.)

• "yt" == youtube
• "user" == get all videos for specified user
• "citizenchong" == the user we want

if we replace a few bits:

yt|video|TYXUUsDGxkU

now we have:

• "yt" == youtube
• "video" == get the specified video
• "TYXUUsDGxkU" == the id of the video we want (you find it in the url on youtube.com)

the third youtube option is:

yt|favs|citizenchong

• "yt" == youtube provider
• "favs" == get all users favorite videos
• "citizenchong" == the user who's favorites we want

Google Video

google videos are available in mpeg4 and will not be converted.

google doesn't have alot of options right now... just video by video.

• "gv" == google video provider
• "video" == we're going to grab the video by id
• "656193898147576910" == the docid for a google videoo we want...

local files and directories

for any files that do not have the mp4 extension, this provider will attempt a conversion to mpeg4.

dir|all|/usr/home/videos

• "dir" == directory and file provider
• "all" == all video files in directory
• "/usr/home/videos" == this is the directory we want to scan for videos

dir|file|/usr/home/videos/my_vid.mov

• "dir" == directory and file provider
• "file" == individual file
• "/usr/home/videos/my_vid.mov" == this is the video we want.

RSS/Podcasts

urls to RSS videos will be passed through to the reader (no conversion).

we can also do rss

rss|url|http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/quicktime

• "rss" == rss provider
• "url" == we're using a URL (this is the only option currently)
• "http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/quicktime" == the URL for a podcast we want... if you have problems... there may be validation issues, check the feed at http://feedvalidator.org/ and help spread standards compliance to the world.
