This requires the third party developers to have access to legal copy of Windows. Developers all around the world, and in varying economic situations might not be able to afford a legal copy of Windows. But nearly all developers with an Internet connection can obtain Linux or BSD.

I think that lack of windows support wont turn away "many" windows users. I think it may turn just some.
