How to install books for BPBible
IntroductionBPBible will read books as distributed by the SWORD project. This page details how to install books for use with BPBible. DetailsThe main download point for books is at http://www.crosswire.org/sword/modules/index.jsp. When you download books, it is best to download the raw zip version (though the others will work). Now do one of the following:
You can now select the installation directory to install it to somewhere different, or view the information associated with the book before installing it. Now press OK to install the book. The book should show up in the list of available books. You can install multiple files at once. Just drag them all onto BPBible, or select them all in the file selector. |

I had not read this when I installed the books. I used the Windows version (not the raw zip) and installed it to C:\Program Files\CrossWire?\The SWORD Project. I added that path in BPBible program using File > Set Sword Paths... It did not work. So I deleted the CrossWire? folder from Program Files, and used File > Install books... to install them. Books like the BWE do not show the text - just hyperlinked numbers which go no where, next to each other. Some books do work. Is this the right place to post this kind of stuff?
Yes, it seems installing the windows version won't work due to how it does it.
BWE is New Testament only, so presumably you were in the old testament. It should display a message saying it is NT or OT only for books which are.
The best place to ask questions like this is in probably in the support forum (http://bpbible.com/forums/support/bpbible-support)
I have Sword project bibles and books installed in gnomesword 2 can i copy them instead of downloading them so that i don't use a lot of crosswire's bandwidth.
Where would i copy them to? I am using bpPortable.
Sorry to have taken soooo long...
Please ask questions like this in the forum at http://bpbible.com/forums.
I forget exactly where gnomesword 2 puts them. But what you will have to do is find a folder mods.d next to a folder modules, and copy both to the resources directory inside the bpbible folder. BPBible also allows you to have multiple resource directories, so you can just copy to a different directory somewhere and go to Set Sword Paths and add the folder.
