Creating themes for Bookie.
Featured, Information, Phase-Support
Updated Feb 4, 2010 by popidiots

Theming is a new feature introduced in the 0.2 beta version of Bookie. It allows the user to specify custom images that will be used instead of the default theme (of course, the default theme is included as well, as otherwise Bookie wouldn't function :-b).

Themes can be created by duplicating the "default" folder in the themes directory, and using the GIF images as starting points. It is important that you don't change the dimensions of the image, as it may lead to overlapping in the Bookie UI. You must then edit the info.ini file to reflect that of your theme. This file contains details like the name, author, version number, and a brief description of your theme. This isn't currently used in the 0.2 build of Bookie, but will be incorporated in the next beta version.

Also, it is important to note that the bottom-left pixel in each image defines the alpha/transparency colour for that image. For example, if the bottom-left pixel of your custom scrollbar image is red, then Bookie will make all pixels that are red in your image transparent. This allows for UI elements to be transparent and non-rectangular.

If you have created a theme, email it to popidiots@gmail.com, and if I like it, I'll add a link to the theme on the "Theme List" wiki page.
