BCDBProtocol

Specification of the BCDB 1.1 protocol.

Introduction

The BCDB protocol is aimed to provide a CDBD-like protocol for barcodes. BCDB is based upon XMLRPC and is very simple.

Exported functions

float getProtocolVersion() : returns the protocol version (1.1).
int isBarcode(std::string barcode) : returns 1 if barcode exists in the database, 0 otherwise.
int isBarcodeLocal(std::string barcode) : returns 1 if barcode exists in the local database, 0 otherwise. This is useful if the BCDB server has plugins which retrieve barcode info from Internet (Amazon, ...)
std::string getBarcodeTitle(std::string barcode) : returns the title of the barcode's barcode object.
std::map<std::string, std::string> getBarcodeFields(std::string barcode) : returns a map {Key: Value} for data's keys/values.
