Running the BigBlueButton VM in Virtual Box
Updated Apr 7, 2010 by chrisliu123@gmail.com

Installing the BigBlueButton VM using VirtualBox

As an alternative to using VMWare player, you can use VirtualBox to run the VMWare images. VirtualBox has more features than VMWare Player including snapshots and guest OS additions which are very useful for running Ubuntu in desktop mode.

What you need:

1. Create a new VirtualBox VM

2. Name it and select Linux and Ubuntu for OS and Distribution

3. Set memory size

4. Use an existing disk, the one for BigBlueButton VM

5. Click Add

6. Select the BigBlueButton .vmdk file which you downloaded

7. Click select

8. Click start to run

NOTE: If you are using VirtualBox inside ubuntu, you have to have PAE on, and all the other System/CPU options off, the option is under the system "Processor" settings. Called "Enable PAE/NX"
