I think we might be able to support AFPD authentication (uams_dhx_passwd.so) if we recompile with the --without-shadow configure option. if you start syslogd on the droboshare, you can see all the afpd output in /var/log/messages. It basically shows 'no shadow passwd entry for xxx' - i.e. the droboshare is not using a shadow password file (or pam) from what i can tell. Question on how to restore. On the initial backup I just did my root hard drive. After I get the bundle mounted I see a Macintosh HD icon as the only item in the folder for that date. Full path is bundle of Backup of macpro-2/Backups.backupdp/macpro (2)/2009-11-02- 18345/Macintosh HD. Subsequent backups I turned on in Time Machine my additional drives. Question is how do a selectively restore something from the base Macintosh HD drive? I can see all of the other drives as folders but don’t see individual files in the base drive, either through the finder or through time machine. Thanks in advance for any help. I then tried repeating the steps, but still nothing... :( It's like it runs for a second, and then stops. I can see the little gear in the menubar spinning for a second, and then it dissappears. The bundle is sparse, so it doesn't need 300g if you say 300g, but it will need probably 100g which is larger than your disk. Free up some space and then create it.
