TargetPlatforms
Supported target platforms
Awib 0.1 supports two target platforms: lang_c and 386_linux. To specify a target platform, insert a line on the form @TARGET at the very beginning of the source file you wish to compile. Here, TARGET should be replaced with the desired target platform identifier (i.e. lang_c or 386_linux). By default, awib uses the lang_c backend to translate brainfuck source code into the C programming language. The resulting C code can then be compiled and run on almost any modern computer. The 386_linux target compiles brainfuck source code into fast ELF binaries, which will run on any 386-based machine running Linux. This target has been supported by awib since 2004 and the code generation is believed to be very stable. Compiled binaries are also known to run well under FreeBSD's Linux ABI. They are in fact prebranded for FreeBSD, so no pesky brandelf(1) invocations are required. |
