Can the "Choose DMG" option be used to have the patchstick , say , install another program like for instance, EyeTV? I am wondering what the best way is for me to install EyeTV onto the AppleTV. Thanks! |

No. The "Choose DMG" is used to select an existing AppleTV update DMG. The AppleTV update DMG is required and boot.efi will be extracted from it. Selecting any other DMG besides an AppleTV update will result in failures. |

To install EyeTV, see the http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Main_Page site and their forums. Lot's on info there about installing EyeTV. |

The DMG files shown at this link only go up to 2.2 Where can I get 2.3? Apple doesn't seem to highlight these updates on their website because Apple TV automatically accesses these updates |

Stop worrying about the dmg and let atvusb-creator auto-download it. There is only one file pulled from it and that boot.efi which is identical on all appletv update dmgs. So it makes zero difference if you feed atvusb-creator a r1.1, r2.0, r2.01, r2.02, r2.10, r2.2 or r2.3 dmg. |

Apple "retires" older dmg's periodically. They vanish from the net. Manually download the current dmg and select it from atvusb-creator instead of auto-downloading it. |
