What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open your gmail account
2. Go to spam
3. Select "Delete all spam messages now" and "yes" when prompted

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Arora closes

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
"select all" and then "delete forever" works

I'm having the same error using Intrepid. I've installed Arora from this PPA:

https://edge.launchpad.net/~pollycoke/+archive/ppa

I'm using QT 4.5 in Intrepid from the same PPA and Arora is very unstable, however,
on another machine, using the Jaunty build Arora is much more stable and I can't
reproduce this error.

#3 getace...@gmail.com
I've downloaded the source for 0.5 release and compiled it myself. It still crashes
so it's not a build error.

#4 getace...@gmail.com
I just tested in Jaunty and it crashes as well. Definitely it's an Arora (or QT
WebKit) problem.

#5 kojot...@gmail.com
I've just checked and it didn't crash.
I use Arora compiled from git master branch.
My system:
Linux 2.6.27.19-3.2-default x86_64
openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64)
Qt: 4.5.0
KDE: 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 106"
Plasma Workspace: 0.3
x11-video-nvidiaG02-180.29-0.1
Shockwave Flash 10.0 r22 x86-64

When I tried this it didn't crash arora for me, are you able to get a backtrace?
Mar 27, 2009
Project Member #9 ice...@gmail.com
At the console start arora in gdb and type r (run) and return to start the program.

gdb arora
r

When it crashes type 'bt' to get a backtrace

Project Member #11 ice...@gmail.com
interesting, can you turn off plugin support and see if you still get a crash?
Mar 27, 2009
#12 canolu...@gmail.com
if i run it using gdb i don't.. ( here is the backtrace: http://paste2.org/p/172877 )
but if i run it normally i still get a crash..
Mar 27, 2009
#13 canolu...@gmail.com
so i'm unable to backtrace it now
Mar 29, 2009
#14 getace...@gmail.com
I tried disabling plugins and it's still crashing.
Mar 29, 2009
#15 getace...@gmail.com
I tried with the 0.6 build from https://launchpad.net/~mapopa/+archive/ppa and it
still crashes.

#16 getace...@gmail.com
Well, it crashes if I delete the items while the page is loading. I have the chat and a google calendar panel
in GMail and they take some time to initialize (I don't know why because they initialize in a second in
Firefox). If I wait for the page to be completely loaded, then I don't get the crash.
Mar 30, 2009
#17 canolu...@gmail.com
can you try removing the google calendar applet?
Mar 31, 2009
#19 getace...@gmail.com
No, I removed the Google Calendar gadget but tried to delete all spam while the chat applet was loading
and it crashes so it must be related to deleting the spam or executing some Javascript while the page is
loading or executing another Javascript function.

getaceres: btw, when you compose mail, can you see the 'attach file' button rendered correctly? i also have
this issue (i think it's related w/ flash plugin).
Apr 1, 2009
#21 getace...@gmail.com
No, the attach button only shows a grey square that flickers when I put the mouse over it. I cannot click it
and so, I cannot attach files.
Apr 1, 2009
#22 belzeb...@gmail.com
please solve the problem with the attach button!!!! i think we need to open a new bug...
Apr 1, 2009
#23 canolu...@gmail.com
yes, the 'attach button' is another story. they are different issues.
Apr 5, 2009
#24 zecmerqu...@gmail.com
same here, with the git version. I tried with plugin support turned off, and don't have the google calendar
gadget.
Here is the backtrace: http://paste2.org/p/178012

Weird thing is that the first time I launched arora with gdb, it did'nt crash..
May 12, 2009
#25 belzeb...@gmail.com
It is still crashing here(debian sid, arora 0.6.1 at 4.5.1). Waiting for some seconds for the page to be fully
charged, and then it works and I can delete all spam messages...
May 25, 2009
#26 getace...@gmail.com
It still crashes with Arora 0.7.0. I suppose it's a QtWebkit bug, so we must wait to
QT 4.6 and hope for it to be fixed.

I'm currently running arora from git, qtwebkit from trunk and qt from git, and it is working,
so I guess it will be fixed with qt 4.6.

I cannot reproduce this, but can the ones that can reproduce this please go in gdb
into the QNetworkReplyImpl::abort frame (typing f 1) and then print the value of
state (typing p this->d_func()->state) ?

thanks.
(and tell the version of Qt you are using :)

So it is crashing in QMetaObject::disconnect instead of QObject::disconnect now?
Anyway, type "bt" to get the new/different backtrace displayed and show it here, please.

Then go into the frame of QNetworkReplyImpl::abort by typing "frame NUM" where NUM is
the number next to the function in the backtrace.

Then "print this->d_func()->state"
