Introduction

A job is something that can exist independently of any vacancy, but will often be included as part of one.

Type

Identifier: argot:Job

Properties

Title

Identifier: dc:title

Description: The title of the job. If the job is being used as part of a vacancy, then it may not be necessary to include this.

Example: Chief Agricultural Officer

Location

In many cases the location for a job will be the same as the location of the organisation that is providing the job. However, if an organisation has many sites, or is recruiting for an overseas position, then it may be easier to provide this information directly on the job item.

Remuneration

The amount that the job pays.

Job Type

Identifier: argot:jobType

The type of the job, such as permanent or fixed term.

Example: permanent

Working arrangements

Identifier: argot:workingArrangements

The working arrangements for the post, such as full- or part-time.

Example: full-time

Requires

Identifier: argot:requires

Indicates some qualification, language, check or other criteria that is required to be in place before this post can be taken up.

Example: argot:CheckCRB

The list of possible values is open, but initial values are:

argot:CheckCRB The job-holder must be CRB checked
argot:NationalUK The job-holder must be a UK national
argot:WorkPermitUK The job-holder must hold a UK work-permit
argot:TravelUK The job-holder will travel within the UK
argot:TravelInternational The job-holder will travel outside the UK

Either here or in ArgotVacancy, I think there should be a pointer to a job/person description.

It might be worth taking a look at the HR-XML consortium's Position Opening Schema to see what information they've included. Of course this will be different both because it's RDF rather than plain old XML and because it's focused on UK government jobs, but it might be a useful jumping off point.
