app_notify is an Asterisk module which sends call notifications over the network to announce the callers name and telephone number to a desktop PC.

There are Clients for different OS's:

• Windows: NotifierServer.zip using Snarl from Wim van Ommen
• OS-X: http://www.mezzo.net/asterisk/app_notify.html using Growl from Sven Slezak
• Linux: gastify from Jan Penschuck, notifyOSD.c from Ivan Borisov

There are two releases in the download section, one for Asterisk 1.6 and one for 1.8. To install the module just download the appropriate tarball, unpack and type:

make 
make install

Now restart asterisk.
