Annotrax combines the concept of channeled annotating with a video search engine and an highly interactive video player. This project relies heavily on HTML5 <video>, Ogg/theora, Zend Framework, jQuery.

Annotrax has been created by Waag Society and was partially funded by MultimediaN.

Annotrax is about exploring possiblities in HTML5 and fast browsers. The video player is scripted in javascript and uses Ogg/theora video. This means that annotrax will never work on current versions of internet Explorer or Safari.

During the development of Annotrax, browsers evolved and API's changed. The current version of Annotrax is the result of just a few iterations of rapid prototyping, and may not be ready to install out-of-the box.

However, we've constucted a working video site using HTML5 video, based completely on opensource technology:
