What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fix cards and anki and answer flashcards as normal.
2. Sync deck.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The local-side changes should be synced to the server-side. Instead, I see
a "changes: 0 (here), 2780 (server)" and then my deck is reverted back to
the way it was when I synced it last time.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using anki 0.9.8.8 on ubuntu linux, with the offending db.py line commented
(which prevents users from starting anki after upgrading).

Please provide any additional information below.

This was an unfortunate oversight on my part - the upgrade was marking the cards as
modified and thus when it comes time to sync, the cards are sent back to you. I've
fixed this now, but if your deck was upgraded already, you'll need to run 'check db'
on your local side to force the cards to go to the server.
