A list of public servers for you to store your data on
Featured
Updated Sep 24, 2010 by foran.pa...@gmail.com

The following is a list of public servers you may store your data on. Please remember, our privacy policy can only vouch for servers hosted by Paddy Foran. Those are marked with an asterisk in the list.

To use one of these servers, follow all the instructions in HostYourOwnServer, minus the server installation instructions.

http://android2cloud.appspot.com/ is still down today. Ok, I have shared hosting server with WHM/cPanel. I read from the HostYourOwnServer required some installation. Is it possible to install in CentOs? with cPanel without interrupting them?

I suggest that you update android2cloud Chrome ext to able to receive multi public server and can be auto update the list. In mobile also good to have an auto update the public server list for easier to choose.

Many user interested but we dont want it down.

nalzam1,

The HostYourOwnServer documentation says "Create a new App Engine application; make a note of the ID (we'll reference that as app-id from now on)"

The server only supports Google's App Engine, at the moment. I'm rewriting it as we speak to use nodejs: http://www.nodejs.org

The public server list is meant as a resource. I can't, and won't, include it in the application because that would imply our express approval of these applications, when I cannot vouch for your information in the slightest. To screen each public server would be time consuming, and I'd rather (and I think users would rather) I spent that time building a better product that wouldn't go down in the first place. :)
