Reported by dfils...@gmail.com, Jan 3, 2010
When in Day (time) view the date says only e.g. "04/01/2010" - not "Monday
4/1/2010" or "Mon 4/1/2010" or even "Mo 4/1/2010". This makes it really hard
to know which weekday you're at when browsing 3-4 weeks ahead or in the
past.

Repro:
- Set time view in Calendar / Settings / Views
- Go to a day / day view
- Notice the header doesn't show name of the day / weekday - only digits.

I use Tattoo.

Day of week is so fundamental to using a calendar - missing this on Day View and
Agenda View makes the Calendar App almost unusable!

Solved in 2.1

I'm curious as to what you mean by "solved in 2.1". On my HTC Desire, advertised as running
2.1 it's definitely not solved. Could you provide us with some more details.

Tosagi: I use google's own android 2.1 and the day
name is shown here (day and agenda). Are you
sure your phone is 2.1 ?

Htc changes android alot. Themight have made
their own calendar and forgot the day names :(

I solved my problem. Calendar settings depend on phone settings so

Menu > Settings > Date & Time > Select date format > Fri, 31 Dec 2010

And now it's done. Hope this can be useful for somebody..it took me long time to find out. If you choose format like «31/12/2010» no weekday names in calendar agenda or day view.

Give drjoseneves a medal! I've only just bought my phone and thought, "great - a calendar which doesn't tell you the day". I was about to look for a new app, but came here first. You have made my day

drjoseneves you rock, thank you! My wife has been annoyed that the day didn't show on her Calendar Agenda view and we never realised that it would be linked to this setting. Doh!

Based on its date, this issue was originally reported before Android 2.3. Because of the many changes that existed in Android 4.x compared to previous versions, it's very likely that this issue doesn't exist in recent versions of Android like 4.2.2 or newer. Because of the high likelihood that this issue is obsolete, it is getting closed automatically by a script, without a human looking at it in detail. If the issue still exists on a Nexus 4 or Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2 and is not related to Google applications, please open a new report accordingly.
