you guys are definitively right!
a modern smartphone should be able to handle external calendars via iCal / CalDal!
If this feature wont appear in the next time i will have to switch to iphone, because
i need to sync my "work" calendar.... :(
by the way: the second really big bug is the missing vpn/pptp support!!

Fortunately a large amount of the work has already been done for this by the caldav4j
people who have already written CalDAV client library for Java :-)

So at least one of the ingredients is already there. It is likely that most, if not

When I first bought my android device I was blown away that there was no ical

is using this platform to force users to use its services exclusively. I do use
google calendar but also user 30boxes and need to stay subscribed to other ical
calendars for various community projects. Whats worse is that I can subscribe and
integrate external iCals via the google caledar website but the android calendar app
refuses to allow these "Other Calendars" to integrate (even read only) with the
android calendar app. This is appalling and needs to be remedied right now, or
yesterday would be even better.

A reliable SyncML client for calendar would currently be essential for me and

have it as an option, not even as a payable option.
Android code appears to use SyncML libraries to do Google's own sync'ing, so how hard
would it be to create a proper, open, SyncML client?

I'm glad this would sort your requirements out, but unfortunately, we need this for
managing SSL & password protected private CalDav servers. The calendar info is
considered too sensitive to put on Google Calendar(tm).
This feature is considered make or break for these projects. If the users cannot
control their calendars from their handhelds, a whole bunch of other stuff falls over
too.
Android is supposed to be a flagship open source/open standards product, why can it
not speak the leading open standard calendaring protocol.
This wouldn't be Google pulling a Bill and being protectionist over their own
calendar solution now would it? In fact, can anyone think of any other reason why
they would not facilitate this core protocol.

+1 - Pro CALDAV
I have been an iPhone user - 2G unlocked and jailbroken, but always loved my iPhone.
I also use lots of Google apps. Even more, the only reason I don't use the best phone
service in North America, VERIZON, was the fact the iPhone (SIMS) did not work on
their network. When I heard iPhone 3.0 was going to support CALDAV I was beside

WOOHOO! But no CALDAV??? I might just have to get a 3Gs and deal with Apple's control
issues and understand that everyone has control issue, even proclaimers of Open

suboscilator: "currently most phones don't support this feature, just iPhone."
So you're saying that just because Android's main competitor does support this and
that a whole bunch of people are citing this deficiency as the reason they can't
switch; that this is no good reason to add it. I see.
Given that the bulk of the code needed would come straight out of open source
libraries, it shouldn't be rocket science to add this feature.

I am stunned and dismayed that my new HTC Hero cannot sync with an Apple calendar
(CALDAV) server. Android is a superior platform by far, but unless a migration path
is given to those who already have Apple/iCal/iPhone-based installations, then a lot
of people will not move (like those around me in my organisation).
This is so obvious, that the lack of it makes me wonder about Google now adopting
Gates-cum-Jobs closed system tactics. This would be very bad.
As they all said - support open standards!!!

In this stage there will be no recommendation to get Android phones.

issue is 9 months old. Are there other non-technical reasons for this?

This is the #1 reason I am not purchasing an Android enabled phone. I chose instead to purchase a PalmPre plus
(when it arrives) which can act as a wifi hotspot. I then sync my iTouch calendar wirelessly over Verizon's 3g
Network. Currently I do this over my myfi card on Verizon. Works great. Unfortunately the iPhone isn't an
option for me because of AT&T's coverage. By the way, this is strictly a business decision and has nothing to do
with 'tech religion'. No calendar sync with my work (calDAV) means unusable os/calendar.

Also, I tried searching for "CalDAV" in marketplace, and found absolutely nothing. Does anyone else know of

This is a deal-breaker, guys. Without support for CalDav, Android is a non-starter for me. What's going on
here? This isn't hard, and this request has been sitting for a year. I understand that there are other priorities,
but allowing business users to adopt Android seems like a pretty high value.
The lack of progress leads me to believe that there is some hidden business issue at Google that is actively or
passively preventing this from happening. I don't quite know what that issue is, but I can certainly say that I
will not be converting to an Android device any time soon, nor will anyone at my company take it seriously
until this is resolved. We will not convert to Google calendar; sorry. If that is the problem, then get over it -
you did with the Mail application. Apple is eating your lunch and is a LESS open platform.
Additionally astonishing is that there is no 3rd party app for this, either. There was a rumor of one, but a
search of "caldav" reveals no hits. I'm almost tempted to hire a developer to write this; there is clearly a pent-
up demand.

At work I have as my own computer a mac pro with Mac OS X server and I beautifully synchronize my own
10+ calendars on my macbook everywhere. So 10+ for Apple. However, since I love 'open' systems, yesterday
I got a HTC Desire... and today, after long struggles to get wi-fi working (hidden ssid + WPA2), I found out
that I cannot see my meetings etc. etc.
The missing support for calendars different from google's one is telling: if google thinks that people is going
to go from one monopoly (actually not so much in this case, since ical uses caldav) to another one which so
far is inferior is simply wrong. If I am not able to solve the issue I'll be forced to return the droid and to buy an
iphone.
Billions of dollars, thousand of brilliant people and programmers and still no calendar subscription?

main problem is more that they want to data mine things through their cloud services-
and they can't do it if you're using services independent of theirs for stuff like
calendars. The most annoying thing is that all the prospective caldav and ical tools
seem to have been yanked from the market- regardless of whether they were beta,

Apparently google marketing is afraid that enabling caldav will allow iPhone to use google calendar. Should be looking at the reverse, caldav allows mac users to use android. Markspace is marketing some sync options for android-getting up to speed. Of course, mac calendar is web based for mac accounts. Could just use that and it will sync back to desktop laptops with no issues. Since the phones are pretty much connected always, syncing is getting to be less of an issue if you use your droid as your planner. Multiple planners tend to waste time.

Most large enterprises use CalDAV API to access the calendar. CalDAV support is critical in today's networked world. Over 1000 people have taken the trouble to vote for this one. How many times more people are bumped away by this one and haven't bothered, and it will be a multiple. Now how many actual users do these represent? Many have posted as a rep for a company. These will obviously be of the early adopter, frame of mind. If you do this, and release the floodgates, it will become commonplace in short order and you will instantly absorb a bunch more of the market. This will increase familiarity and boost the domestic market, leading to increased use of google. Oh come folks, if an avowed engineer can see this, why haven't you.

why would it support caldav exclusively for google, of course it needs to support it. Then a quick google search "where can I add ical share in android" I though the first hit would give me the answer.
I can NOT believe the native app does not support iCal. Now, this appears to me that Google is taking lessons from Apple, use our stuff or nothing.

Such a great phone, but its unacceptable to sync all personal information with Google. The current workaround is turning off Sync and use "Calendar Sync" app. Very bad. Caldav would be a very big boon for our corporate users. We use Caldav for our calendaring services for it's open nature but we are being pushed to switch over to Exchange because of poor mobile phone support. Currently only iPhone users are the only ones to really have good calendar access. Though windows mobile users can use a cheap and simple application to sync their calendars (which has not nearly as much downsides as 'Calendar Sync').
If Google really wants to help corporate users to switch away from the big Microsoft lock-in they would be wise to support things like Caldav. And no, Google calendar isn't an option for most corporations (something to do with keeping corporate information inside the corparation).

Is there a reason why no-one has submitted a patch to implement this yet, since it's so heavily desired? Shouldn't be hard for someone who knows the protocol and the android code base.

Are you guys silly or something?
THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT. ITS SO EASY.
1.Open Ical.
2.Open Preferences.
3.Click the "Accounts" tab.
4.Click the "+" button to add an account.
5.Account type: GOOGLE
6.Enter Google Account username and password.
7.For account info it should say your google username and password.
hit ok and all that, then go to the 'delegation' tab and click the calendars you want to sync.
NOW:
on gcal (the website), add all the calendars you want to sync ON THE WEBSITE. Then, again, delegate them to ical in the ical application on your mac.
in other words, your calendars on ical will not sync. They have to be added to google calendar and then they will sync. you can see them under the delegated calendars.
Voila, and your'e welcome. I can sync my calendars on my phone, on my comp, wherever there is internets.

ErikRush, the whole point with ical support is to avoid the google calendar. It does not have features like pssword protected ical files.

I will be posting this text in issues 2361, 1257, 2445 since they are all very related. I hope you will help you, I had a really rough couple of days getting the android to work the way I needed.
Guide to a Happy Androidian
I am the proud owner of a Android Galaxy S Epic 4G phone. But like me, most of you have (specially the ones coming from the Blackberry World) been struggling with email, notifications, invites , etc.
So I wrote this little guide with my experience, testing and results.
Currently I am very happy with my current setup, feels just like a darn Smartphone!
I am assuming most of us have a basic-moderate level knowledge of IT, so I will not details the how-to of the steps taken, but will be happy to reply to any post if you get stuck.
Issue#1 Push eMail for non-Gmail POP accounts
Other than Gmail account or Exchange servers, the android needs to poll emails out of the POP server on an scheduled time interval (From now on will call this POP Account ORG_POP; [username]@[mycompany].com). This is not efficient plus consumes too much battery, and we all need every bit!
Solution
1. Create a new Gmail account for your company POP mail. This will give you sync and push capabilities (Will call this NEW_GPOP); I named mine : [companyname].work@gmail.com
2. In the Gmail settings, tell Gmail to Check mail using POP3: specify your ORG_POP account
3. In the Gmail settings, tell Gmail to send mail as: specify your ORG_POP account.
For Android
Sync NEW_GPOP with Android. Note: adding a second account will sometimes create an error (cannot connect to server) on the Android, instead of adding the regular way, log in to YouTube from your Android phone with NEW_GPOP, this will create the new account. (don't ask me why!)
For Outlook
After you have your account setup in Gmail, go to Outlook and add a new email account that connects to NEW_GPOP. You can use the automatic changes. After all is done go to 'More Settings' and under the General tab, specify the reply email to be ORG_POP.
You can still sync with ORG_POP if you like, just remember to leave a copy on the server from NEW_GPOP.
I will recommend not adding LABELED filters to ORG_POP if you also want Outlook to retrieve the message. Not sure, but I am under the impression that Outlook will not retrieve it if it is sitting in a labeled folder (unless you are using IMAP with outlook).
What you get:
1. Push capabilities on your ORG_POP email, no need to sync, poll or wait for emails. (all PUSH for android and outlook)
2. Ability to send email under your ORG_POP email from Gmail , android and outlook, showing your ORG_POP as the reply to address.
3. Ability to keep copies (or delete them) in any of the three clients.
NEW_GPOP will work as a 'transport' mailer. You do not need to reference this email to the outside world (only if you want to), this will only be your account to log and manage your POP(s) account(s).
Personal Note:
You can add multiple POP email address to NEW_GPOP account, to another existing Gmail account (filters with labels if you like) or create new email for each POP email address you want to sync. It all comes down to your organization methodology.
I am sure you could do this with any mail client on the Android, I prefer Gmail since I believe is it simpler and has better integration with Gmail.
I can now manage all my work emails in just one place. If I work for multiple companies and they assign me each one different email, I can compile them all together into my NEW_GPOP and label them individually (or not).
If I go for vacation, I go to Google and set an automatic response and any email from work will be auto-replied.
Since NEW_GPOP is POLLING the emails from ORG_POP this is not done instantly, depending on the server or how Gmail performs the scheduled polls, you will receive the emails between 1-5m (in my experience).
Another way to make the emails get faster to your NEW_GPOP is to log into your ORG_POP account and tell the server to Forward the emails to NEW_GPOP. This will PUSH the email from ORG_POP to NEW_GPOP instantly and then NEW_GPOP will PUSH it to your android or outlook. It might look redundant, but if you Forward and Delete, then NEW_GPOP will get the email (a few seconds in my experience) and will find nothing the next time it tries to POLL from ORG_POP. Then a few seconds later I get the email on my Android.
Issue#2 Receiving/Accepting meeting invites on your Android
If you did follow the setup for issue 36903750 , every time someone send you an invite to NEW_GPOP (meeting invite to NEW_GPOP email) Google will automatically add it to your calendar. This is great if you are giving away your NEW_GPOP email address, but if you receive email via the ORG_POP address, Google will stop the Quick Calendar entry and wait until you manually create the entry.
For some weird and mystic reason, Google decided not to include meeting invites in their Gmail account other than meeting submitted to a GMAIL account. If you receive an invite and you open Gmail on your PC, you will see the invite as a calendar option and insert it into Google calendar. Yes, if you accept it on Gmail on your PC, it will sync with the Android and show in your Android calendar. So, why not do this automatically for the ORG_POP account on the Android or Gmail??! ... Easy fix!
Solution
1. On Gmail, click Settings, Google Account Settings.
2. Under Personal Settings>>Emails, click Edit and add your ORG_POP.
3. Confirm Verification. Done!
BTW: while you are in the account settings, select Multiple Sign-in. Will be easier to manage all your Google accounts.
What you get:
All your invites sent to your ORG_POP will AUTOMATICALLY be included into the Google Calendar. I tested invites from Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook Calendars.
This is because Gmail now recognizes that ORG_POP is now an email address that belongs to you. Regularly when invites are sent, it is addressed to many emails. Gmail will not include entries on your calendar because it does not recognize ORG_POP as part your account emails.
There is a catch! the entry will be recorded in your calendar using the NEW_GPOP address (yup, too good to be true). This means that if you reply or change the event the new reply-to address will be NEW_GPOP not ORG_POP. I think if you reply with GMAIL not GCALENDAR the reply will remain ORG_POP, but need to try this.
Personal Note:
I have only test the ability to receive them automatically into the calendar. have partially tested (with good results):
1. Replying Yes, No, Maybe from Gmail or Android
2. Canceling or moving to another time.
I guess they will all work well since it is already within Gmail, but will try this later.
I only see a problem with this. Outlook.
Some invites will arrive as emails with an ics attachment, This is not a problem, Outlook will not add it to your calendar at this point. But when you get an standard Outlook invite from another Outlook client, yours will receive it as an invite and add it to the calendar.
For some people this might be good or bad. for me is bad. If you don't have a Sync client like (CompanionLink - I am testing the Trial Version) you will want to keep it in outlook so you can see the invite. But if you have an Sync client, the sync client will send to your Gmail account another copy of the invite, hence creating multiple copies.
To overcome my problem was a 2 step solution.
1. In Outlook, go to Options>>email options>>tracking options>>uncheck all checkboxes.
2. Create a new rule: "which is a meeting invitation or update">>"mark it as read">>"delete it"
That took care of my problem.
Now when I receive invite, they will stay in Gmail, they will be added to my Gmail calendar and then my sync client will retrieve them (in 5min) and add them to outlook calendar.
Also when I send invites from outlook the process will be the same but in reverse order.
Initiating the invite in the android will not be a problem, but it has it drawback (read my conclusion).
Alternative
Download from the Market: ICS Bot. This application will present you with the option of adding the calendar into your Android phone when you receive an invite with an ICS extension as an attachment.
Issue#3: Not Getting Gmail notification on Labeled and skip Invoice emails.
Some of us have filters in our inbox to properly manage our emails and organize them so we don't clutter the inbox. Gmail for Android will not notify you if you receive any of the emails that follow this filter criteria.
Solution
1. Download from the Market Gmail Label Notifier ($1.50)
2. Setup each label individually with notification and ringtone.
3. Setup Gmail on your Android to SYNC the specific label you want to get notified.
Personal Note:
I tried other apps without good success, confusing menus and double notifications (icons and sound) and also was not happy with the look and feel. Gmail Label Notifier gave me exactly what I need.
Make sure you are NOT archiving really important email, since the notifier seems to use the SYNC feature to get the emails and not a push from GMAIL. This means that the email might take longer to pop in your Smartphone (but not long).
Conclusion
I have to say I am very impressed about Google Integration between their apps. Definitely an Android user MUST have all his account in Gmail or at least polled or pushed into a Gmail account. Even Google Talk will notify me if someone canceled a meeting!
But at the same time I am disappointed at not seeing most of these issues already resolved or at least a viable workaround from Google to determine how to overcome some of these basic necessity problems.
Other Notes:
Sending Invites from Outlook
When creating invites or meeting from Outlook, you get the same transparency you will get from your original server. The attendee will receive something like this:
From: ORG_POP
To: xxxx@yahoo.com
This is good if you are only using your outlook desktop client to create meeting and manage them, but sometime you are on the run, need to reply, cancel or create a new meeting from the Android or Gmail and this is where I ran out of options to figure out a solution.
Sending Invites from Gmail or Android
In Gmail, when you click on any appointment, and see the WHO, you will see that Gmail is matching the invitee with your NEW_GPOP account. This is where I don't like the address that is sending the invite, there is no option to select which account is sending the invite or no option to default to my ORG_POP. Attendee will get something like this:
To:
xxxx@yahoo.com
Who: (Attendees)
1. NEW_GPOP@gmail.com - organizer
2. NEW_GPOP@gmail.com - creator (or PERSONAL@gmail.com, I shared my Work calendar)
3. xxxx@yahoo.com
I need this to be corrected to the following:
To:
xxxx@yahoo.com
Who: (Attendees)
1. ORG_POP [username]@[mycompany].com
2. xxxx@yahoo.com
First, it is creating one extra entry too and it is not specifying the ORG_POP address. When xxxx receives the email they will see that came from Gmail notmycompany.com . Although replying to this email will results in properly updating calendar information, it more of a question of ethics of showing the right address.
This is the only problem I have not been able to resolve, I will play more with gmail and see if there are settings that could help. For the mean time I am creating and setting up, replying and changing my appoint ONLY in outlook, although I can see them on my phone and Google calendar. Thankfully at the moment I am not getting many meeting requests.

When xxxx receives the email they will see that came from Gmail not
This is the only problem I have not been able to resolve, I will play more with gmail and see if there are settings that could help. For the mean time I am creating and setting up, replying and changing my appoint ONLY in outlook, although I can see them on my phone and Google calendar. Thankfully at the moment I am not getting many meeting requests.

to google-devs: I just bought a HTC Desire and am shocked that the only "solution" is syncing via google at the moment... I am using Apples ical with a private caldav server and really want to sync my agenda to my so called "smartphone" without a wierd google-calendar workaround. The "calendar sync" app is as bad as my 4 year old sony ericsson was, only one calendar, no useful 2 way sync etc. Is there any reason out there not to support CALDAV? Not doing so isn't really evil, but far from good.

Just updated to FROYO 2.2 last night. Samsung Galaxy S (Vibrant), and still no CALDAV support.
I guess GOOGLE can't insert some type of AD into the caldav protocol (or maybe their R&D group is still working on that)?
I mean, why else would they NOT support it? I know the G-world revolves around adverts getting to you somehow/way/etc... But, I will not drink the google kool-aid. "Calendar Sync" app suffices for now.

I wouldn't expect Google to add CalDAV [non-proprietary] support to Android anytime soon; their intention to use Android as wedge for their proprietary services is clear.
But Hypermatrix has a beta CalDAV sync application that seems to work well. And support for Funambol calendar sync should be available [from Funambol community] sometime in Febuary 2011.

So, this has been untouched by google for 2 years. Dissapointing. I use two phones now, an iphone and an android. The iphonde works with ical and exchange seemlessly. The droid only works with exchange and from time to type barfs and starts receiving emails from person A while displaying it as person B. (Old Open ticket) . Sothe only reason I still have rhe droid is the slide out keyboard, but if there was a different phone with a slide out keyboard that supports cdma, ssh, and ica, and exchangel, I'd drop both phones and switch in a heartbeat.

I can't recommend Android as a viable platform for our company until it supports WebDAV/CalDAV synchronization support. Such a simple thing for a powerful phome or tablet, it is one of the very few but extremely important things that Android can't do.

Hello *,
just to clarify:
* ICSSync -http://icssync.com - is stable (i.e. not beta anymore),
* manages a separate calendar for each ICS-URL,
* syncs bidirectionally (both server=>phone and phone=>server),
* supports recurring events (see [A] below),
* supports reminders,
* supports manual synchronisation (via UI) and
* supports periodic back-ground-synchronisation (as a service).
It therefore solves the problem described by this issue.
Best regards, Marco :-)
[A] Right now, exceptions to recurring events are still ignored. This feature is on the TODO-list - seehttp://icssync.com/faq.html under "Known bugs".

It is outragous that this does not work as expected. we have an app that can take a picture of another picture and tell you the artist, find similar photos, and find the text in the photos. but loading an ics file from an email is impossible!
in gmail on the web, google is able to scan my message, find dates, and suggest I add them to a calendar. but when that date is packaged in a standardized format, it cannot be added on a mobile.
what's worse is that the zxing qr generator has an option to create calendar event in a qr code, but android does not know how to handle this. beyond frustrating.
for all those looking for a workaround, I did find icsBot (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cts=1330961328100&ved=0CDoQFjAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmarket.android.com%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.earleyholdings.icsbot2%26hl%3Den&ei=rdtUT52JDIrqggfpgdH3DQ&usg=AFQjCNFaDMLI0LC8VQj1DH82sZEy-OkdWA&sig2=41Z8LHJLJwwHImEbBZGxAA ) that is able to download ics's from email messages and add them to a calendar.

Still not done? Incredible. I've recommended many people not to get an Android device, and this is the main reason why.
There are a couple workarounds, but nothing nearly as good as native support.http://www.icssync.com/ seems to best, but I haven't tried it. And I will not get and Android device just to find out if this workaround is any good.
Quite frankly, I'll probably not consider an Android device in the future either. This lack of customer focus is shocking.
So, support CalDAV and webcal subscriptions if you like. I'm gone regardless.

Google no longer supports open standards.

What #573 said. In fact this is so crappy that I'm considering dumping Google completely, even though I've spent the last 10 years evangelising about it. This may well be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Hello,
Is there a status updated when support for caldav and carddav will be added to Android. Currently purchased Samsung Galaxy s4 and I'm unable to sync my corporate caldav calendar.
Thanks
Lucas

"switch to non google android and use DavDroid"
There are external, non-Gooogle-Play solutions to this issue, but the point is it should be built in as a basic function of the Android OS.

Why you did not check to see that davdroid *is* actually on google play?
so...@gmail.com <so...@gmail.com> #581
Pretty sure that what they were trying to convey is "switch to a non-Google *app* and use DavDroid..."

Is this still an issue? I'm assuming it is, since I'm suddenly seeing emails about it today. I'm still on an iPhone, because this really would be a dealbreaker for me to ever get an Android phone. I have my own CalDAV server, as do most of my clients. I will not put my calendars or the calendars of my clients on somebody else's server (aka "the cloud") because I and my clients are VERY sensitive to privacy issues. I will NOT implement another Exchange server, ever. The one time I did that, it ended up being an expensive nightmare.
Please fix this bug if it still exists. CalDAV is critical functionality, it needs to happen before I'll support any device but iPhone/iPad. I can sort of support Windows with Thunderbird/Lightning, but this really only works right with Mac/iPhone/iPad.

CalDAV-sync and CardDAV-sync apps. Been using them with davical server for years.

I've been using Davdriod for several years as well. It's okay but not a solution.
The OS includes built-in clients for SMTP, IMAP, HTTP. Why not a built-in client for CalDAV/CardDav?

DAVdroid has been mention a few times, but also have a look at ICSdroid. Both are available in, at least, Google Play and F-Droid app stores. To get even more freedom, one can also consider using Etar as calendar app and disabling Google's calendar app. Nevertheless, I hope this issue gets fixed by Google.

If you want this feature available on Android without having to pay for
davdroid this is something you need to get on the radar on the product
manager for Google Calendar.

As far as I know this is still an issue.. but was raised eons ago. I've
used different 3rd party apps for this but all have been buggy and feel
that a smartphone should cater for calendar integration with out being
locked to Google services. My phone is due for renewal so I will choose the
make that has the features I need.

I'm sorry for *this* reply, but if y'all could stop replying "unsubscribe" and just click the link and "unstar" the issue at the top left above the comments, that'd be nice.

Unsubscribe means something different.

Hi all you guys that want to unsubscribe because you feel spammed. The spamming is because of your using the list to try to unsubscribe. Follow the link at the bottom of the email. It says issue 36907451 . Log in with the account you used to start subscribing. You will, if you succeed in remembering the right account and logging in, see a yellow star at the top of the list of Messages. That means it is starred, or if you will, that you are subscribed to the issue. Click on the star. Voila, you are unsubscribed.
If you do not succeed, please do not bother your fellow subscribers with that issue. You don't want to be spammed, then do not spam.
Best regards and good luck.

So how does one indicate that they are still affected by this issue without
receiving emails? Unstarring effectively means you no longer care about
this issue. See the problem there?

But you are no longer affected by this issue because the Status is "Won't Fix". (It was previously marked as a duplicate, but the issue it got duped to is also Won't Fix now) Commenting here won't get it reopened because they never look at it anymore once it's been closed. The only way this will get seen is if someone opens a new issue and we all migrate over there.
bu...@gmail.com <bu...@gmail.com> #609
And it looks like someone's already done that. It's https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/37047670 . So everyone that still cares should go star that one.
Description
calendars via iCal / CalDav.
For people without Exchange servers that wish to access "work" calendars
where syncing with Google is not an option, direct access to a calendar via
iCal / CalDav would be a nice feature.
