- Steps to reproduce the problem.
I have two contacts on phone, my brother (+923331234567) and father (+923311234567)

- What happened.
No matter who calls me, or who i call, name of my brother appears on screen with the number I am calling to below. Also in call log only my brother appears no matter who called me or whom i called.

- What you think the correct behavior should be.
Each of them should appear separately as different contact.

I have Froyo 2.2

This issue is with other nokia phones as well, I never expected a smart phone with this problem

I am using Gingerbread on a Nexus S and have this same issue. It causes problems with text messaging too (the two contact's threads are intertwined and occasionally, the wrong contact receives my messages, with much confusion). This is becoming a real headache.

you guys are 100% true, i was looking for this issue from long time and unable to find any solution. my mobile number +92345(same number) and my wife mobile number +92312(same number) but with different carrier code only. i tried +92312 & +92345 \ 0092312 & 0092345 \ 0312 & 0345. nothing fix this bug.even i have nokia symbian phone and the issus is same on it. i try on couple of android froyo\ gingerbread\ icecream even and its the same.. finally i remove one number and identify it myself when ever required as device cannot....

This bug is not obsolete. This bug is still in android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

Still a problem. This is a real annoyance when trying to use my smartphone for business. Bridge lines that share an 800 number but have different codes for each call must be manually entered each time the call is used. Lots of numbers for something that shouldn't be a problem.

Same problem on galaxy A52 and S20 ultra. Still. 12 years have passed since this issue was opened ans still is not fixed. Incredible!!
