|Issue 16483:||Android Market doesn't allow removing an existing application's rating and comment|
|28 people starred this issue and may be notified of changes.||Back to list|
Device: N1 2.3.3 - Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Rate an application (i.e. give it "stars") in the "my rating" section 2. Add a comment in the "My Comment" section 3. Then (say for a new version of the app where issues have been addressed), try removing the ratings and comment. 4. Notice how you can't remove the ratings or comment. Expected behavior: - A user should be able to reset the rating and comment he/she gave to an application.

In the app one can swipe left over the stars to get "Unrated" (that text is actually always shown when starting editing; see issue #30634 ), but then the "OK" button is disabled. On the website no clue whatsoever either. Clearing all text still allows one to click "Submit Review", but after a refresh the old review is still there, albeit with an updated version number and on top of the list when sorted by "Newest". As the Play app disables the "OK" button when one removes the title, it seems that the title is mandatory. Indeed, on the website, leaving some text in the title does allow one to clear the description. Still, of course, people should be able to remove the review/rating altogether.

I have the same problem. Can't delete/update my comments. Actually updating once have worked but not anymore.

Finally, the Play website has a Delete option now; screen capture attached.

Oh, good. Finally is fixed, then.

Well, I wouldn't mark THIS very bug report as fixed, as it's still not possible to remove a rating the same way one reviewed/rated. I even joined Google+ to be allowed to go into an old review/rating (now anonymised as "A Google User; see http://techcrunch.com/2012/11/26/google-play-gets-real-reviews-will-now-be-posted-with-your-google-name-and-picture/ ), but even then no option in the Play Store app yet. But indeed, this workaround is okay for me too. (Play Store 3.10.9 on Nexus S, Android 4.1.2)
