android-vnc-viewer uses code from TightVNC and antlersoft

Uninstall

To uninstall androidVNC

This information is only relevant if you are trying to upgrade from a pre-2010 non-Market version of android-vnc-viewer

  • go to Settings from the menu at Home (or the Settings app)

From the list of options:

  • Select Applications
  • Select Manage Applications

You'll get list of installed apps

  • Select androidVNC
  • Press Uninstall button

If the uninstall fails

If this happens to you, the install will fail and then there won't be anything to uninstall. If you get in this situation, reinstall the old version you had (from the android-vnc-viewer downloads) and then you should be able to uninstall it. After the uninstall, the installation of the new version will work.

What's really unclear is how the Market versions align with the development versions... ie. 0.2.2 correlates to which development version? If you can document these associations, it gives people an idea of how far ahead the development branch is.

The current Market version is from r45 (090307) in the code. This was essentially the same as the development branch for a while, since dev was slow. I've added this information to the FAQ.
