Scroid for Android

Project description:

Scroid (standing for Screen Android) is a wallpaper application for the Android platform. It consumes a REST based webservice which also will be released as open source in a different project.

• thumb preview of wallpapers (available by service) in gallery

• preview dialog including opportunity to set wallpaper as system wallpaper

• opportunity to define favourites saved in sqlite database

• caching (temporary) for reducing downloads and improving performance

• file system caching (configurable cache size)

• opportunity to recommend wallpaper via email or sms

• parsing methods (wallpaper list) for json and xml

Planned features:

• displaying comments provided by service

• writing comments

• displaying tags provided by service

• performance optimizations

Also planed:

• unit-tests (using mocking)

Third party libraries used in this project:

• Google Guice 2.0 (licensed under Apache V. 2.0) compiled without AOP support
