Here! Here!  Not having Perl support in Android would be a serious hole in the
programming environment.  There are legions of great Perl programmers just aching for
this opportunity and tons more who have Perl as their second language.

Guidoogle already has a scripting language starting with P that they control (or that
controls them)

Here comes the Perl army :)

I'm just starting to learn Java, but I know Perl.  I'd love to see Android support
Perl scripting.  My feeling is, is that it's a Linux platform, so why not support the
most commonly used languages.  A lot of really cool things could be done with it from
a Systems point of view, rather than a developers.  To go even further, what would
really be nice would be an API in the SDK for Perl, and not "just" for it to be
supported in the system.

any thing that is based in linux should have perl. it's like having a kitchen sink. 
it's not much of a kitchen without one. 

Please add Perl support

Perl is default in unix flavours..Excited for the release ...when Unix mobile 
OS(android) gonna support for perl?

This makes me wonder ... if Dalvik runs java bytecode, could it maybe run perl
opcodes?  Maybe could somebody write a perl -> Dalvik bytecode perl B:: backend?

Dalvik runs Dalvik ByteCode. it has a Java to Dalvik compiler though..
Next from that there might be a way. But its not that hard. Just a lot of work.
I am using pelr now and its really usefull ^^ Thansk!
