If you use Amarok as your music player and would like to control it remotely from any browser, then this project might help. If it does help, please let me know, for I have this strong feeling that the number of people with this interest is less than 5 :)

Specifically, I wrote this so that I could control the music from my iPhone

NOTE: This currently works only with Amarok 1.x which uses DCOP. Now that Kubuntu 9.04 is out, it seems Amarok2 is getting quite popular. A release that supports Amarok2 will be worked on, hopefully soon

UPDATES

  • December 31, 2008: New release with little UI fixes to make things nicer on a Google Android phone (like the TMobile G1)
  • December 7, 2008: New UI. Thanks to Andrew Nutter-Upham for the patch.
