AIDA Result Register
This project was started to improve the current AIDA Result Register - database of results from freediving competitions.
The primary goal of the project is simplifying and standardizing the submission of competition results to the central database - creation of an interface that could be used by competition organizers. Other tasks are currently in discussion: improving the public user interface (browsing of competition results and ranking), interface to Freedive Central, off-line result data collection (for entering the data at a competition without Internet access), and possibly other extensions or interfaces.
We are currently in the phase of forming the team, defining the goals, selecting tools, methods, and planning the project
Goals
| Goal | current state | tasks |
| Central database | currently on Jome's server | optimizing, hosting, backup system |
| User interface | currently on Jome's server | opening the source code, optimizing, improving, enhancing, hosting |
| Admin interface | currently on Jome's server | opening the source code, optimizing, improving, enhancing, hosting |
| Event organizer interface | n.a. | ths interface should allow collecting the competition results both online and offline, and submitting them to the central database |
| Extensions | n.a. | The system should allow adding extensions and additional modules easily - possible extensions: event planning, competition managment, registrations, payments, knowledge base, info database for comentators, top-time announcements, chart and statistics modules, etc. |
| Universality / scalability | n.a. | if possible, the system should be planned and design so, that it can be used also for associations other than just AIDA, and eventually also in other sports than just freediving |
