Ping Identity is a leading federated identity management vendor, delivering secure Internet single sign-on (SSO) software and services to more than 300 enterprise customers, government agencies and service providers worldwide.

PingFederate, their flagship product, allows inbound and outbound SSO between a user working in a browser in one location and an application running in another. PingFederate maps whatever security protocol is used locally to whatever the endpoint application uses, typically SAML for requests over the internet. No modification to existing applications or identity infrastructure is necessary.

Ping Identity has built an alpha version of PingFederate to support requests made through the Google Secure Data Connector (SDC). PingFederate translates requests into and out of the OAuth authentication standard used by SDC, which allows two-way communication between Google Apps and any on-premise application - even if it does not support OAuth natively.
