How is Google I/O different from Google Developer Day?
Google I/O is a two day developer event focused on both Google
developer products as well as other open initiatives for the web. Since
Google I/O is in San Francisco, there will not be a Google Developer Day in
the Bay area as there would be substantial overlap. However, Google
Developer Days are still being held outside of the US as one day events
where the Google developer team can connect with developers in local
markets.
Will you be having a Google I/O event in my area?
Currently, there are only plans for one Google I/O, this one in the San
Francisco Bay Area. However, there are many user led developer events that
occur around the world. Check our events calendar to see if there are any
in your area. In addition, later this year we will be holding a number of
smaller Google Developer Days in locations outside the United States.
Are there any discounts available?
We've tried to set the event passes at a level which will be accessible
to a wide range of developers, including individuals and non-profits.
Before 4/4, we're providing a 25% discount. There is also a discounted rate
for students and teachers.
Can Google get me a discount on accommodations?
Google has secured group discounts on the
hotels listed.
How do I make my hotel reservations?
Please contact the hotels directly and reference the code
'GOOGLE I/O' to get the discounted rate.
I can no longer attend and want to send a colleague in my place. How
do I change the name on my registration?
No problem, please email us at
google-io@google.com, and we
can sort this out. We will register your colleague and apply the
payment you have made to your colleague's new record.
Will I receive additional information for the event?
As the dates get closer, we'll post more information about the Google
I/O speakers and their sessions. Check back from time to time for the
most updated information. In addition, we'll email you the week before
Google I/O with the latest.
I need to cancel my registration. How do I do that?
Unfortunately, registration fees are non-refundable. If you'd like
to send a colleague or friend in your place, please email
google-io@google.com with your registration confirmation number and name
change request and we'll make the change for you.
What is the attire for the event?
Come as you are.
Handicap accessibility?
Definitely. Moscone West is fully ADA certified.
Please email us at
google-io@google.com if
you have an specific concerns.
I'm a journalist. Is there something special that I should do to
